Abstract

The author analyzes in detail the ontological aspects of love in the early Sto- ics, emphasizes its complexity and dialectical. On the one hand, in their opinion, love is associ- ated with something irrational, uncontrollable, passionate, but, on the other hand, it is frus- trating and causes a person to acts opposite to its original impulses. In this article also proved that the early Stoic philosophers argued about the relationship of love with the right, hence, it is not considered immoral by them, as well as the relationship of love with the beautiful, especially with music. Love, according to the early Stoics, cannot produce anything unnatural, unjust, but on the contrary, it builds a frame of reference of what is good and what is evil
