Digital Watermarking with Identification Numbers

With rapid growth of Internet and multimedia applications, the problems associated with multimedia security and IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) protection have become a great concern to public and very critical to solve these problems. As audio, image, video and other works become available in digital form, the easy access and perfect duplication, lead to large-scale unauthorized copying which may depress the creators of works or the copyright holder and undermine the related industries. Event though conventional cryptographic systems have been studied for a long time, there is no way to trace its reproduction and redistribution when once encrypted data is decrypted. Digital Watermarking is one of the ways to overcome these problems. In this paper, a non-blind watermarking with Identification number is introduced. We show that the method has single bit error correction capability useful for watermarking and robust against JPEG lossy compression and cropping attack as well.
