Abstract

The present work reports the synthesis some novel sulfdiazine derivatives(3-57), through interaction of Phenylacetic acid-4-sulphonylsulfadiazine (1) with amino acid to afforded free amino acids(3-13), which was esterefied to corresponding methyl esters (14-24). Furthermore, free amino acids(3-13) reacted with thiosemicarbazide, p-aminoacetophenone and sulfadiazine respectively to furnished compounds (14-57). The structures of these compounds were elucidated on the basis of their spectral data (IR, 1HNMR and M.S).These compounds were also screened for their antimicrobial activity against, Bacillus subtilis, Klebsiella pneumonia, almonella typhosa, Escherichia coli, Asperigilluse Ochraceus and Penicilium chrysogenum by Paper disc diffusion technique at 100 ug/ml in DMF using Chloroamphenicol and Terbifin as standard drug, some synthesized compounds showed high antimicrobial activity.
