Abstract

The article gives a brief overview of such correlated function words as prepo- sitions and postpositions in German, Yakut and Russian languages, which express mainly spatial, temporal, and local relations. The case government of prepositions and postpositions, its polysemy, as well as the neutralization of the difference in the meaning of prepositions are especially noteworthy in German grammar. The lack of prepositions in the Yakut language, and the lack of postpositions in the Russian language, and the presence of prepositions and postpositions in the German language must be taken into account when teaching foreign lan- guages, in particular German
