Abstract

The article describes experience of using “Naval Battle” game in its educa- tional modi? cation for teaching grammar and vocabulary to primary school pupils. The tables developed by the author can be used to teach a wide range of vocabulary, word combinations and irregular verbs. The article dwells upon game settings, peculiarities of applying “Naval Battle” at the lesson, outcomes of approbation. The game does not only enable a teacher to check knowledge and skills of pupils but also provides a more effective feedback on challenges that they experience in learning particular grammar and vocabulary topics thus making it pos- sible to focus on dif? culties and troubleshoot them. Moreover the game motivates students for independent learning
