Abstract

New data on the doctor devotee, patriot and humanist I.I. Markevich (1834-1923) who was born in Belarus are presented in the article for the first time. His life and achievements over 65 years of professional activity, charity and community work are highly appreciated. He successfully practiced medicine in the cities: Grodno, Perm, Warsaw, and Druskininkai. The memory of him needs protecting against oblivion.
