Abstract
Dissociation is commonly conceptualized as a psychological defense mechanism that develops as a reaction to overwhelming traumatic experiences, especially childhood trauma. The article presents the results of our own research on the interrelation between early traumatic experiences, time of substance using and dissociation in alcohol-dependent male patients. The results of the research prove the interdependence of dissociation process and early traumatic experiences. The interrelation between time of alcohol abuse and dissociation were not discovered
