Survey on Security Threats of Wireless & Mobile Adhoc Network

A mobile ad hoc network (MANET), is a self-configuring network of mobile devices connected by wireless links. The Ad hoc networks are a new wireless networking paradigm for mobile hosts. Wireless adhoc network is autonomous, infrastructure less and may be mobile depending on its type of application. Secure transmission of information in wireless adhoc environment is an important concern. In this paper we propose to use shared cryptography to secure message communication in adhoc network.We have also proposed to keep redundancy in the number of shares to withstand loss of some shares due to loss in transmission or security attacks. Compared to other available schemes, In this paper, we discuss security issues and their current solutions in the mobile ad hoc network. We first analyze the main vulnerabilities in the mobile ad hoc networks, which have made it much easier to suffer from attacks than the traditional wired network. Then we discuss the security criteria of the mobile ad hoc network and present the main attack types that exist in it. Finally we survey the current securit? solutions for the mobile ad hoc network. ?
