THE PHENOMENON OF GUILT IN THE CONTEXT OF PSYCHOANALYTIC APPROACH

This article considers the phenomenon of guilt in the context of the psychoanalytic approach and its impact on the system of parents-children's relations. It is concluded that this phenomenon is under-explored by Ukrainian psychologists. The interaction of guilt and shame is explored also. It was found that the guilt is the emotion of the highest order. The use of guilt by parents in manipulative purposes is analyzed. The psychological background of guilt development is determined. The article also describes some common cultural mechanisms of guilt digestion and behavior driven by guilt.
