Abstract
Epizootic situation in non-chernozem zone proves the trend of annual slow increase of fascioliasis invasion. The potential risk of further degradation of the situation in terms of Fasciola hepatica geographical range, spreading over the new agricultural areas is increasing. The key element in complex of anti-fascioliasis measures is pasture prevention using ecofriendly herbal remedy. The research aim is studying molluscicide influence of snake root (Polygonum bistorta L.) on freshwater mussels of tribe Lymnaeidae and Planorbidae ? intermediate hosts of trematodas of farm animals, birds and fish. As a result of the conducted research, high (85-100 %) efficiency of preparation from P. bistorta for mussels and 80-100 % for their oviposition is detected. Low toxic level of herbal preparations to non-target organisms, lack of cumulative properties and possibility of their usage in integrated system of vermin development control are noted.
