PSYCHOLOGY OF AGING AS A MAJOR METHODOLOGICAL BASIS IN GERONTOSTOMATOLOGY

The article deals with the psychological aspects of aging, as well as its inherent features of the elderly to be considered the doctor of any profile. The authors examine the psychology of aging, an important methodo- logical basis of gerontology, as well as offer a comprehensive implementation of gerontological approach that includes a set of psychological techniques aimed at increasing motivation to the treatment of an elderly man. Special attention is paid to issues gerontostomatology as dental treatment - is not only a great deal of stress for the patient: in old age is associated with a huge number of additional factors that carry great psychological bur- den. Hence, the implementation of a new, gerontological approach, including psychological aspects - is the most important task for the future of dentistry
