Abstract

The article includes the data resulting from the author’s empirical investigation of ideas about the leading reasons for loneliness conducted with account of age and gende r distinctions. It presents a comparative analy- sis of different ideas about the reasons for loneliness revealed in an all - population group and among highly socially isolated individuals. The research has been conducted in the East Kazakhstan region.
