ON THE ISSUE OF CONCEPT AND STRUCTURE OF THE BANKING SYSTEM OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

The article deals with the controversial issues of defining concept and structure of the banking system of the Russian Federation. The author has drawn a conclusion that the banking system of Russia has two levels; it includes the Central bank of the Russian Federation, the Deposit Insurance Agency and credit institutions. Further development of the banking system should be headed in the direction of applying legal principles reflecting the ideas of equality, justice and responsibility to the banking legislation.
