Abstract

The aim of the article is to analyze male and female principles in the works of F.M. Dostoevsky, Russian writer and philosopher. The article specifies the peculiarities of such concepts as “love”, “passion” and “suffering”, and underlines their strong interrelation in the writer’s works. The author clearly contrasts man and woman. The role of female principle in F.M. Dostoevsky’s works, as well as the meaning of gender analysis of his body of work for succeeding Russian and Western philosophers are presented.
