ACCESSIBILITY OF HOUSING OBJECTS FOR DISABLED

The article concerns one of the aspects of creating accessible environment for disabled which is the issue of adaptation of housing facilities to the needs of disabled persons of different groups. The estimates of accessibility of objects and services based on the responses given by disabled during sociological surveys in 2014 and 2015 in the territory of the Vologda region are presented. The following difficulties arising in the course of ensuring accessibility of housing objects are analyzed: costs for disabled-friendly renovation of available buildings and facilities, pedestrian areas and building surrounding grounds, as well as provision of housing to disabled.
