Abstract

Introduction. Active surgical tactics is adopted in the surgery for focal diseases of the liver. An analysis of our own experience of surgical treatment of patients with benign focal liver disease was the purpose of this article. Materials and methods. Thirty-five patients underwent surgery due to various benign focal liver lesions. There were 16 men and 19 women at the age of 26 to 72 years. Clinical tests, EGD, colonoscopy, ultrasound, CT, MRI, MSCT were performed. Parasitic and non-parasitic cysts were observed in 21 cases, solitary abscesses ? in 8 cases, hemangiomas ? in 6 cases. The main surgical intervention was formal liver resection. No deaths were reported. Conclusions. Active surgical tactics promotes optimal results in the treatment of benign focal liver disease.
