Abstract
The article is determined by the fact that the potential of oil industry as a tool for employment and diversification of industry-oriented economy of Nigeria is not fully realized. This is due to the fact that the current situation of oil price has affected the development of oil industry in Nigeria, which limited its role in the economy and employment. The article is aimed at achieving the following objectives: to study the competence of the oil industry in Nigeria, and to identify the most advanced methods for the development of the oil industry in Nigeria.
