Abstract

The article is devoted to revealing “the many faces” of the Soviet reality pictured in “Fairytale of Good Jinn” by R. I. Rozhdestvensky and “About a Jinn” by V. S. Vysotsky in the context of the late 1960s ? early 1980s literature process. The article tells about the issues of the Soviet reality relevant in the era of “Brezhnevian Stagnation” one of which is exposure of the domination of lower-middle-class narrow-mindedness and philistinism. This object of interest is one of the leading motives in the poetry of R. I. Rozhdestvensky and V. S. Vysotsky in the period from the second half of the 1960s to the first half of the 1980s. The purpose of the study is to explore the parody and satirical character of “Fairytale of Good Jinn” by R. I. Rozhdestvensky and “About a Jinn” by V. S. Vysotsky in a comparative manner. The novelty of this scientific study lies in the first-time poetic evaluation of parodic fairytales “Fairytale of Good Jinn” by R. I. Rozhdestvensky and “About a Jinn” by V. S. Vysotsky that captured stylistic trends in the literature process of the period being studied.
