Abstract

In economic geographic research, great attention is paid to economic potential of the regions. Thus, an economic geographical place of the region in the country is determined or compared to another region. We believe that each of the region’s economic development and its place in the country, and the economic potential directly depends on the natural geographical conditions of the region. Given the above, this article examines the natural-geographical role, natural resources available, the potential for eco-tourism, agro-climatic conditions, and the type and composition of the soil in terms of agriculture of Samarkand region, located in the central region of Uzbekistan.
