Abstract
In this article the story of moral descent of Rebecca Sharp main character in her rush for wealth is considered, ambiguity of the heroine personality is noted. Becky, despite immoral and selfish nature, is created by the author as person, extremely bright and attractive to readers, with will to live and strong character.
