Abstract

The problem. Under the influence of globalization processes life insurance market has become a center of constant attention of the government, and an issue of its recognition as a social program has become acute in many developed countries and in Ukraine. The purpose of the article is to identify global models of social protection system for population in the countries, where life insurance has the largest share. The results of the study. There are several models of social security system in the world. Life insurance develops in certain amounts that are possible through the government compulsory social protection programs. That is, the size of the social security system in the country is negatively correlated with the demand for life insurance products: the more developed is the state social support, the less people spend money for term life insurance and vice versa. The Anglo-Saxon or American-British, Continental and Scandinavian models of social security system have been analyzed in the article. Besides the author has made the comparative analysis of traditional life insurance contracts and unit-linked. The conclusion. The result of the analysis offered by the author is that combined system based on the continental model is most susceptible for Ukraine
