Abstract

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumour is rare neoplasm consisting of myofibroblastic spindle cell proliferation with varying degrees of inflammatory cell infiltration. Alimentary tract inflammatory myofiblastic tumours are rare. We present a case of 7 month-old male infant with features of sub-acute intestinal obstruction, found to be due to solitary ileal inflammatory myofibroblastic tumour. Anemia and raised ESR were associated features. Complete excision is curative in such solitary lesion although close follow up is mandatory due to risk of recurrence.
