PRODUCTION MODEL OF TWO BEEF TONELS BY HECTARE YEAR IN THE SINU VALLEY

Abstract

In a farm located in the municipality of Cereté, department of Córdoba, a model of production of beef cattle of two tonelate of beef for year, was evaluated. Is was used an area of two hectares of star grass (Cynodon nlemfuensis), divided in four paddock, managed with a rotational grazing system of 5 days of occupation and 15 days of rest with stoking rate of 7/head/ha, with initial weight average of 131 kg, supplemented with 0.5 kilogram/anim/day of whole cottonseed during the rainy season, and in the dry season with silage of corn or sudax grass, balanced with 0.3% of urea more 1.0 or 1.5 kilogram of whole cottonseed in mixture with rice polishing. During the rainy season (224 days) the live weight gain average was 0.912kg/anim/day, and during the dry season (141 days) the live weight gain was 0.567kg/anim/day, to average live weight gain during 365 days was of 0.777kg/anim/day. The daily live weight gain per hectare was 5.45 kilogram, raised gains of 1988 kilogram per hectare per year, so much nearly to the objective projected. The economic analysis, including in the costs the renting of the land and the capital interest, it throws a net profit of $1.541.176. Is was possible to conclude that is possible the production of two tons of beef per hectare per year under the Valle del Sinú condition the proposal model is susceptible to improve in the feed strategy during the dry season and the availability the pasture with objective to increase the rent.
