Abstract
The present paper reports the Qualitative phytochemical analysis of leaf extracts of Lawsoniainermis L. (Lythreaceae) and Jatropha gossypifolia L. (Euphorbiaceae) which are used by the tribal and rural people for curing different ailments in the West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, India. Phytochemical tests confirmed the presence of primary and secondary classes of Phytochemicals in the ethanolic, methanolic and aqueous leaf extracts of L. inermis L. and J. gossypifolia L. such as Carbohydrates, proteins, Phenols, Tannin, Flavonoids, Saponins, Glycosides, Steroids, Terpenoids.
