Abstract
The main theoretical approaches to define the concept of ?growth pole? are stated in the article. The methodology of detection of the growth poles of an old industrial region is provided. The analysis of the industrial complex of Dnepropetrovsk region based on this methodology is hold in the article and the conclusions about its priority activities and future development of the region are drawn.
