Abstract
The article discusses problems of the content of professional training of future engineering teachers in the food industry, it is accented on feasibility and urgency of its updating according to new European standards. The need for theoretical reasons and implementation of competence-based approach as effective means of increasing the level of preparation of engineering teacher in food area are determined; the leading competences which the certified specialist in this area will gain are revealed, namely: cognitive, creative, organizational and actional. Functions of competence-based approach in training of future engineering teachers ? methodological, analytical and educational ? are defined and described; the paper emphasizes on the implementation of competence-based approach in professional training through various didactic technologies on the basis of the principles, requirements, specially designed didactic procedures.
