Abstract
The article represents a study of speech types on the example of Ostrovsky's plays of 70s of 19 th century. Exactly at that period from feudalism to capitalism transition occurred; and French language entered in Russian speech ? this phenomenon was shown in the plays of A. N. Ostrovsky at that period. The concept of the culture speech type is one of the leading terms in the modern Russian linguistics. N. I. Tolstoy introduced the concept and identified two linguistic and cultural layers. V. G. Goldin and O. B. Sirotinina continued the course of N. I. Tolstoy and identified the culture speech types in the modern Russian language. The great historical influence of the French language and culture on Russian society was occurred at the 18 th ?19th centuries. It reveals in frequent usage of French words in the Russian swell society's speech. At the same time, the French words usage in the speech of lower society was rare or avoided at all
