Abstract
The article analyses the concept of home in the novel Love by a well-known British writer Angela Carter. The author of the article describes different types of dwellings, such as private house, apartment, as well as the transformation stages of conditions of these dwell- ings, their connection with streets, towns and world in general. In the novel house is consid- ered to be a developing concept and extends vertically from the past to the future, in contrast to the conception of apartment which is flat. The article mainly dwells on the analysis of the residences belonging to Lee Collins, because despite all his weaknesses this protagonist char- acter in the novel embodies though a weak but a sincere man with human feelings. The con- clusion of the article proves that a private house better corresponds to the idea of a protected home
