Efficacy of Computerized Training of Working Memory on University Students’ Academic Achievement

Abstract
Background and Aims: Working memory has the ability to keep the current information for a short period, while this information was applied for the task at hand. Previously conducted researches studied and pointed that there was a meaningful relationship between working memory and the academic achievement. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the computerized training of working memory on academic achievement improvement of university students.
Materials and Methods: In this regard 12 young healthy students completed the trainings in experimental group. 12 young healthy students were selected as the control group. Before and after the training participants’ Grade Point Average was recorded.
Results: Results demonstrated that computerized training of working memory produces significant improvements in students’? academic achievement .(p
