Abstract
The purpose of this research is to determine the needs of teachers who teach Turkish to Turkish children who are bilingual. 43 Turkish teachers in England participated in this study. This qualitative descriptive study has been designed with phenomenological approach. Data has been collected within the framework of swot analysis and content analysis applied for data analysis. The finding of this study indicated that teachers consider as strong, missing and opportunity from the viewpoint of themselves and apart from themselves and the points they were concerned and anxious that have been indicated on an individual basis. This study has been mainly concluded as follows: needs and shortages of Turkish teachers in England; textbook, curriculum and their materials, as for deficiency needs and shortages; professional knowledge, inadequacy of experience and professional development opportunities. This study also concluded with lack of financial and institutional support and resources and lack of equipment in schools as well the different issues arising from children and the family were also discussed.
