Abstract
Plastic is used in abundance by population in day-today to life. This engenders significant non-biodegradable waste. Since, plastic bags, wrappers, and other lamination plastic takes around 30 years to decompose completely, it is crying need to decompose such pestilent material with ever increasing population and waste. Moreover, burning plastic produces PCBs which are dioxins and lethal to environment and living. Dioxins are persistent organic pollutants which remain in the environment for a long time due to their strong chemical structure. Reusing plastic waste can be an affordable way out. Using plastic waste in road construction not only solves the decomposing of waste but rather improves binding strength and quality of roads. Roads with plastic increase durability by two folds and show resistance to water retention. This paper intends to create awareness and introduce various aspects for better utilization of plastic for betterment of road construction.
