Software Unit for Processing Statistical Information on Flood Water Level

The analysis of the current state of the problem of flood forecasting is given. An algorithm of forecasting water levels based on observing data in the flood period is shown. The article contains the results of algorithm and software unit development in software environment R. The unit allows collecting statistical information and constructing the mathematical model of forecasting water levels for implementation the method of forecasting water levels based on statistics of previous floods in the selected river. Designed unit is used in finding and constructing approximating curves in flood period using statistical data on water levels based on the data of Ukrainian Hydrometeorological center. The experimental studies have confirmed the adequacy of the model.
