Abstract
The article deals with logical and grammatical aspects of Aristotle's “Categories” within the framework of the anonymous “Commentary” attributed to Ammonius Herminae. Grammatical backgrounds for Aristotelian doctrine of homonyms are revealed. The paper describes the phenomenon of Attic figures (σχ?μα ?ττικόν) and Attic syntax (Αττική Σύνταξη) in terms of relationship between subject and predicate considered by Ammonius in his “Commentary”.
