Carcinoma penis involving urethra is a rare case

Abstract
A 55 years old gentleman was admitted with complaints of ulcer over the glans penis, swelling of the shaft of penis, diminished urine stream and difficulty in passing urine for past 6 months. Circumcission was done outside and patient was diagnosed as well differentiated squamous cell carcinoma. Cisplatin 60 mgs iv od and 5 flurouracil 750mg iv od given for two days.On admission here patient had difficulty in passing urine and poor stream of urine. Patient was diagnosed as type 2 diabetes mellitus and treated with insulin. Patient was planned for total penectomy and perineal urethrostomy. Surgery was done and specimen was sent for histopathlogical report. Post operatively patient developed wound gaping and resuturing was done. Report showed well differentiated keratinizing invasive squamous cell carcinomaof penis. Resected margin shows small focus involved by tumor tissue. Urethra involved by tumor.carcinoma penis involving urethra is a rare case.
