Abstract
The article presents the current understanding of the cytokine system and genes that encode them, defined the role of single nucleotide polymorphisms in the character of the course of viral hepatitis, the adverse effects of the disease, the effectiveness of antiviral treatment and severity of adverse effects during therapy.
