Abstract
This study aims to determine student teachers understanding on the division of fractions and understanding changes in the division of fractions by introducing a multiplicative understanding. Research subjects were students of Mathematics Education department FKIP UHN 2012, that were 40 people. This type of research is quantitative descriptive with experiment. The results show that an increase in students understanding on the division of fractions, word problems involving the filing of the division of fractions, word problems concerning the settlement of fractional division introduced after multiplicative understanding on division of fractions by using a schematic diagram Vergnaud.
