Abstract
The article analyzed the use of juridical terminology, ecological and biological and geographical terminological vocabulary and terms of psychology, sociology and philosophy in the language of modern print mass media; it is defined their stylistic role in journalism. In the language of Ukrainian periodicals at the beginning of the XXI century there is a growing tendency to use bookish words that mainly have nominative and informative function. The juridical terminology, ecological and biological and geographical terminological vocabulary and terms of psychology, sociology extended their functioning in journalism. The term words and terminological word combinations are used as well as informative publications and analytical mass media. There is a growing tendency to use such special units in the national publications and in the regional periodicals.
