The results of archaeological exploration in central and northern regions of the Republic of Moldova

Abstract
This publication describes of archaeological sites identified in the central and northern areas of the Republic of Moldova in 1984. In the central regions it was determined the location of 48 sites of various cultural and chronological horizons. Of these, 36 ones are single- layer and 12 are multi-layer. Prevailing are the settlements of the following cultures: Getae, Sântana de Mureş-Chernyakhov, and the Moldavian late medieval culture. In the northern areas there were discovered 17 settlements, most of which are single-layer and belong to the cultures of Cucuteni-Tripolye and Sântana de Mureş-Chernyakhov.
