REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPLEX TERMS IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING IN UKRAINIAN AND ENGLISH

The article deals with compound terminological unit requirements in modern sci- ence and technical texts in Ukrainian and English languages in the sublanguage of electrical engineering. Systemacy, exact definition, monosemanticity, optimal length of the terminolog- ical unit, stylistic neutrality, semantics exactness and high informativity are considered to be the main requirements of compound terminological units in both languages. But during the description of the situations, phenomenas, processes, breakthrough in the science and tech- nical sphere expressivity also is possible
