Abstract

Work with the dental phantoms allows to learn spatial orientation and tactile sense of the scale of the instruments and the oral cavity. On phantoms students learn to work in «four hands» from the first course. To develop the necessary professional skills dental students is not easy, especially if we are talking about the practical work in the mouth. Students are not confident in their abilities, yet are unable to apply knowledge in practice, so they had to work with people. To overcome your fear and insecurities, you can begin to practice on anatomical models of the jaw. It replicates a real dental reception and improves the quality of training of dentists in General – in addition to training in how to conduct high-quality treatment students also receive skills ergonomic working, performing all procedures in the correct position, resulting in less fatigue to the doctor. Phantom installations include directly phantom, simulating the patient, and its different position in the dental chair, as well as the control unit, the hydraulic unit, the illumination unit and all the basic dental handpieces necessary for most manipulations. But such models do not give a complete picture of the dentist's work. The article presents the results of a study of teaching students of the faculty of dentistry manual skill preparation on simulators of various levels of realism in the clinic. A group of 30 students of the dental faculty were trained on phantom units at various levels of realism in the clinic. The observation was carried out during 3 years (from 2-year to 4-th). Difficulties and issues raised by students on clinical admission, and you need to work on the simulator. This allows to minimize complications and errors on the clinical admission of students.
