Abstract
Atrial fibrillation is an arrhythmia accompanied by significant social and economical losses due to high prevalence, increased risk of stroke and thrombembolia, disability and death. To treat this arrhythmia radiofrequency ablation of pulmonary veins ostia has been used successfully in clinical practice in recent two decades. However, it is necessary for doctors and patients to take into consideration possible complications of this procedure as well as preventive me measures of their development and their treatment.
