Abstract
In ascending aorta aneurysm the conventional Aorto caval cardiopulmonary bypass is not feasible as the segment for aortic canulation is diseased and requires surgical repair. Henceforth a femoral vein-femoral artery cardiopulmonary bypass is useful to achieve surgical ease for correction. But, cerebral perfusion is not ensured with a normothermic or hypothermic circulatory arrest. Hence, a Deep Hypothermic Circulatory Arrest (DHCA) can be used. We are describing the successful management of a patient with ascending aorta aneurysm using femoro-femoral cardiopulmonary bypass and Deep Hypothermic Circulatory Arrest
