Abstract
Many scholars both Arabic and foreigner have contirbuted to Arabic language and literature in each period. Some of them have interested in Arabic language because of their religious affiliation with Islam, and others have interested in due to their cultural and oriental sensitivity. One of them is Zamakhşarî who is interested in Arabic language due to his membership of Islam. Zamakhşerî ethnically belongs to origin of Harezm Turks. His competence in Arabic language and rhetoric has been accepted by all scientific circumstances. His “Newabiğu'l-Kelim”, “Maqâmât” and “Atwâqu'z-Zeheb fi'l-Mewâ‘iz we'l-Hutab” books written in Arabic language are rich in terms of eloquent materials they have. Atwâq work, short and mediumsized, consisted of 100 articles. Articles generally have a content which gives advice and lesson. Although articles are written as prose, they also have a poetic format. Since Zamakhshari is prominent in using literary arts, there is almost no literary art he didn't use. Beside his generally using arts of pun, simile and metaphor; he didn't refrain himself from placing emphasis on trope, inquiry, figurative expression, praise-disparagement, allusion and contradiction. The work named Atwaq has an original format in literary arts alongside their peers. In this paper, we will evaluate “Atwâqu'z-Zahab” which is a magnum opus in the field of Arabic language interwoven with eloquent arts.
