Rural gatherings in conditions of "agrarian revolution" in Katerynoslav region in 1917-1922

Abstract
The article describes the activities of rural gatherings as a body of rural self-government in Katerynoslav region, analyses peasants' moods in Katerynoslav region at different stages of "agrarian revolution" in 1917–1922 and characterizes its social and political aspects. The source of research is based on materials of rural gatherings and reports of soviet government and party figures. In difficult war conditions rural gatherings played the main part in peasants' self-organizing and solving business problems. They also were mediators in treatment with government representatives and bodies. The peculiarity of Katerynoslav rural gatherings was reflection of social conflicts in community and protection of their members' economic interests. By the rebirth of communal relations the village tried to protect itself from negative influence of outer space in conditions of «agrarian revolution».
