PENGEMBANGAN MOTIF BATIK KHAS ACEH GAYO

Batik industry began to develop in the region of Aceh Gayo, but less batik motifs reflect the typical regional identities. Therefore, it is necessary to create a distinctive design motif that Aceh Gayo taken inspiration from art and culture of the local area. The aim of research and the creation of this art is to create a motif that has a unique shape and characteristics so as to reflect the peculiarities of the region of Aceh Gayo. The method used is the exploration, design, and the embodiment of the work motif, as well as the aesthetic test. From the creation of this art had been created 5 motif, namely: (1) Motif Ceplok Gayo; (2) Motif Kerawang Tegak; (3) Motif KerawangDatar; (4) Motif Parang Gayo; (5) Motif Kerawang Lembut; and (6) Motif Geometris Gayo.Based on the results of the assessment "Taste Aesthetics" note that the most widely preferred motif is a Motif Ceplok Gayo and Motif Parang Gayo.
