Analysis of the main theories of ethnic groups

The article reveals essential features of formation of ethnic groups and their relevance in the present in detail. Special attention is given to basic terms and conditions of education of ethnic groups. The term "ethnogenesis" was studied and its relationship with the topic. The theory of passionarity formulated by Lev Gumilev was anylised, shown its main provisions and described the basic concepts related to this theory. These stages and phases of passionarity were pointed out. The features and trends of ethnic groups were characterized. The basic problems of the theory were revealed.
