Abstract
The article considers the main principles of learner-centered learning, the definition of coaching, as well as the main principles and stages of coaching. The importance of learner-centered approach in teaching foreign languages and the role of linguistic coaching to enhance students' motivation to learn are emphasized. The conditions of linguistic coaching application, its main objectives, principles and stages in creation of the system of competencies are considered. The role of the teacher at the mastery of critical thinking to solve real life problems, to perform tasks creatively and to develop personality is determined. The article states the necessity of cooperation between the teacher and students to solve common communicative tasks when students are involved into creating their system of personal competences.
