Abstract
The article is devoted to work of Armenian marine painters – Oganes Peyzat and Pogos Shashyan, who worked in Constantinople in the middle of XIX century. Influenced by the famous marine painter Ivan (Hovhannes) Aivazovsky, they created the works of high professional level, which met the needs of the age, and joined the outstanding artists of Constantinople. Today their paintings are presented in the famous museums in Istanbul and other cities, however, their names are little known to a wide audience.
