Abstract
The article is devoted to the peculiarities of demographic development of the Eastern regions on example of the Tyva Republic. Despite the difficult socio-economic situation, the Eastern regions of Russia are gradually adapting to new economic conditions and moving from demographic depopulation to the natural population increase. The Tyva Republic is characterized by a steady natural growth, despite the prolonged crisis of the 1990s. It is noted that the natural increase has always been the most important factor in the population dynamics. It only in the period of 1990-2000 gave way to the migration outflow. It is proposed to preserve the demographic potential of the Republic to solve the problem of population outflow and implement the return migration policy.
