Abstract
In the article, the category of literary portrait as text is considered on the material of Kazakh literature. The poetics of national and cultural portrait is multidimensional and includes ethnopsychological characteristics of Kazakh people, its rich traditional culture, peculiarities of character and specific character of steppe landscape.
